Bed Bugs
Bed Bugs are insects from the genus Cimex that feed on blood, normally at night. They can inflict
harm with there bites causing skin rashes, psychological effects, and allergic symptoms. They can
cause skin changes ranging from small areas of redness to noticeable blisters.
They range in size from 1 to 7 mm. They like to spread by attaching to personal items like luggage,
clothing etc. An infestation is more common in high-density areas rather than poor hygiene. Bed bugs
spend most of there time in the dark, hidden in locations such as the mattress seams, or cracks in
the walls.
Fleas
Flea is the common name for the order Siphonaptera, this includes 2,500 species of the small flightless parasites and they live on the outside of mammals and birds. They live on ingesting the blood of their hosts. Fleas grow around 3mm and an eight of an inch long. They are usually brown in color and there bodies are flattened and narrow so they are able to manoeuver through their hosts fur or feathers.
Spiders
Spiders are the largest order of arachnids North America is home to many of these arachnids. There
are about 40,000 species of spiders in the world, and North America is home to nearly 3,000 of them.
House spiders are bound to appear in your home from time to time. With a lot of spiders being
harmless there are some that can be concerning thats why it is good to how to identify them.
You will notice a spike in spider activity when the weather is changing you might notice them more
in your attic, basement, bathroom, and general living spaces. Some of the most common house spiders
are American house spider, Wolf spider, Black widow, Brown recluse, Daddy longlegs, Hobo spider,
Jumping spider, Jumping spider, Yellow sac spider, Orb weaver spider, Grass spider.
Ants
As one of the most prolific and successful groups of insects on earth, ants are frequently reported
pest at home and in the workplace. They are not only one of the most common type of pest they are
also one of the most persistent kind of pest.
Many ants that are found inside home and businesses, however most ants forage outside where they
feed on small insects and organisms. A few of the ants that homeowners and business encounter are
odorous house ants, red imported fire ants, carpenter ants, argentine ants, acrobat ants, pharaoh
ants, and crazy ants.

Cockroaches
Cockroaches are from the paraphyletic group of insects belonging to Blattodea. There are about 30
cockroach species out of 4,600 that are associated with human habitats. Theses are the well known as
pests.
Cockroaches lack the normal mouth of a bug they actually have chewing mouthparts and they are
probably the most primitive of the living Neopteran insects. They are very common insects and can
thrive in a wide range of climates such as the Artic cold to Tropical heat. Usually tropical
cockroaches are much larger than the temperate species.
Termite
Termites that are in close proximity to houses can extend there colonies with galleries of
underground tunnels made of mud to enter into homes. They usually like to keep out of site and munch
on the structure of timbers leaving the surface layer intact. They will also chew through cardboard,
plastic and insulation materials. They might be more noticed in the Spring when other winged insects
appear and swarm the home. It is good to have regular inspections of the structure of your home to
catch termite activity before the damage become substantial.
The inspection and monitoring of termites is important because termites have alates they are winged
reproductive and they don't always swarm in the structure. Solid applied liquid termiticides provide
a chemical barrier that prevents termites from entering buildings, and lethal baits can be used
these are used by having one of the insects carry it back to the nest and share it with the rest of
the colony.
Rodents
Most rodents are small animals with robust bodies, short limbs, and long tails. Most eat seeds or other plant materials. Rodents are diverse in their ecology and lifestyles they can be found in almost every terrestrial habitat with human made environments included. Some species like the brown rat, the black rat, and the house mouse are the serious pests. They spread diseases and eating and spoiling food stored by humans.
Mosquitos
Mosquitos are apart of the family Culicidae. There are over 3,500 types of mosquitos that can be found worldwide. The females are the ones tha suck on blood they can carry diseases such as malaria. The mosquitos saliva is entered to the host after a bite. They rely on water to breed they like to reproduce in any kind of body of water.
